Inspire One Another on toward Love and Good Deeds

Inspiration comes in many forms, and even tiny packages.  Most of us are inspired by children.  I marvel when watching a child perform an activity (especially when there is a little bit of struggle involved).  Last night one of the children of my church came with her mother to help with some cleaning.  We just finished painting our bathrooms and this lady came (as a commitment to the Lord) to give both washrooms a thorough cleaning.

Her daughter however had another cleaning project in mind - to vacuum the sanctuary carpet.  I got the vacuum cleaner out of the closet for her, set it up, and plugged it in.  I watched (with a grin on my face) as she struggled with the weight of both the carpet-cleaning head with its long hose and heavy nozzle and the vacuum cleaner machine itself.  But what amazed me most is that she never gave up.  Even though the vacuum cleaner and carpet nozzle probably outweighed her, she pushed on and found ways (mostly through brute strength) to maneuver the machine around and finish the job.  It took her about a half an hour to vacuum the middle isle.

Last night God spoke very clearly to me through this little girl.  The message: Even when times get really tough and seem to outweigh your energy and ability to perform, find a way to push through.  There is always a way if there is a will.
This little girl (only six years old) taught me a very important inspirational lesson last night.  God used her as a living testimony of Hebrews 10:24: "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds."  She spurred me on.

However, she was not the only inspirational moment I had yesterday.  As I was checking out my Facebook account, I came to the status of a friend.  He is a semi-retired pastor.  I checked out his wall and found this inspirational video of an older couple doing something wonderful to cheer up people who may be in very depressing situations in their lives.  As I watched the clip it brought a smile to my face and cheer to my heart.  Have a look and be inspired today.
